Alarms

The 1st 2 options are availbe per Fan, Use the button with the fan name to select the correct fan.

Raise Alarm after X seconds of inactivity;

default := Unchecked and 25;
Check the box for each fan to turn it's alarm on. Use the up and down arrows you can increase/decrease the time a fan alarm should be ignored, this is handy if you put your PC in suspend mode and don't want the alarm to go off when your PC wakes up and the fan's have to get back from 0 to the normal RPM. The step increase of the seconds is the interval time you selected on the general tab.

Minimal RPM;

default := Unchecked and 2700
If you check this then an alarm will be raised if the fan RPM drops below your set Value, there is no waiting time. the use of this is to see if you fan is dying or filling up with dust and thus slowing down. Do not use this if you suspend you PC because as soon as you un-suspend this alarm will go off

The options below are are for all 3 the fans.

Show Warning Message for Fans;

default := Checked;
Checking this box will make Motherboard Monitor show you a message when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. Unchecking this box will make sure you don’t get a message when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. PC speaker and play Wav will not be avaible if you uncheck this box.

Sound PC Speaker for Fans Alarm;

default := Checked;
Checking this box will make your PC Speaker beep when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. This option is only available if Show Warning Message checked.

On Fan Alarm Run;

default := UnChecked;
Checking this box will make Motherboard Monitor run another program when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. If you see [none] then this means that no other program has been selected. Click the Select File button to locate the program you want to launch when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. Right click on the filename (if you have on selected) will give you the option to add a switch

Select File;

default := [none];
Clicking on this box will bring up a standard Windows Open dialog box. In this box you can select the File/Program you want to run when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. Only Executable files can be selected (*.Exe, *.Com, *.Bat).

On Fan Alarm Play;

default := UnChecked;
Checking this box will make Motherboard Monitor play a wave when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. If you see [none] then this means that no wave has been selected. Click the Select Wave button to locate a wave you want to launch when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. This option will not be avaible if you have the Show Warning Message unchecked.

Select Wave;

default := [none];
Clicking on this box will bring up a standard Windows Open dialog box. In this box you can select the wave you want to play when the Fan Alarm Settings have been reached. Only waves can be selected (*.wav).

Settings

Fan X Type;

default := Type 1;
This is very simple. Some fan's give 1 puls per second, others give 2, if your fan seems to be double the speed from the bios then select Type 2.

Fan X Division;

default := 2;
The default setting of the chip is 2, this works on 90% of the fan's, if however you have a Case fan installed and it's a slow fan, it might show up as N/A in MBM, in that case you should try selecting 3 or 4 and see if the chip can detect the fan then. There will be a 2 second pause in the whole program if you change this. The lower the division the more acurate the readout.
